Pellegrini: Man City Have Not Won Title Yet

Man City boss Manuel Pellegrini has warned his players that the Premier League title is not won yet, despite their crucial victory at Goodison Park over Everton; their first on Merseyside against the Toffees  in 20 years. A nervy 3-2 victory means the Blues sit on top of the Premier League with two games to play, both at home to Aston Villa and West Ham United.

“It is a huge step towards winning the title but my message was the same as it was after we lost at Liverpool – the title is not over.”

“We have to win our games and we will start preparing for the game against Aston Villa on Sunday.

“Everton have been in a very good moment and it was a very important victory.”

Liverpool were leading the title chase up until last weekend, but following defeat to Chelsea, City have regained their position in pole position. Pellegrini’s side have blown hot and cold this season, after tearing teams apart in the first half of the campaign especially at home, the side have dropped off in 2014 compared to the high standards they set themselves.

However, with their two remaining games against relatively weak teams, City can feel closer to their second Premier League title as the season draws to an end.
