Manchester United are expected to announce Louis Van Gaal as their new manager at some point next week following the concluding game of the season away to Southampton on Wednesday.
The former Barcelona manager is to takeover from interim manager, Ryan Giggs, who is set to end his career at the club to pursue pastures anew in management.
The Dutchman was educated in the Total Football philosophy, and implements this style of play where he goes. However, he is known for having a volatile nature and some players may struggle to accept this. Van Gaal will more than likely be given a sizable transfer budget to reshaped the United squad, with many key faces such as Nemanja Vidic leaving the club, as well as Patrice Evra, similarly headed out of Old Trafford.
His last club job, with Bayern Munich between 2009-2011, is deemed by many to be a failure. He will manage Holland in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, but his first taste of English football will be no easy task.
