Is Bony the most under-rated striker? Compared to Giroud and Dzeko

Coming from Dutch side Vitesse after scoring 46 goals in 65 games, no one batted an eyelid when Wilfried Bony was signed by Swansea for their club record fee. However, after scoring 16 goals for the Swans in 34 games and having one of the best conversion record in the league, people have started to raise their voice in support of this Ivorian. His first season at Swansea wasn’t a fairy-tale as the man who brought him in got a sack, still the 25 year old did not lost his path and has scored 9 goals in 12 matches under the new manager and proved to be an important part in keeping the side adrift of the relegation zone.

One man army:

In his first season at a relegation threatened club, Bony has fought really hard. Although Eden Dzeko and Olivier Giroud also scored the same amount of goals for their respective clubs this season, the help available to the latter two was nowhere near what the Ivorian got. He was one man army at the Welsh side and is the only Swansea player that have scored 10+ goals this season. So it is a matter of fact that this man has been the game changer for his side this whole season.

Against the big sides:

Despite being his first season on English soil, the Ivorian’s performances against the top sides were one to remember. He scored goals against sides like Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham and Everton. Having played 14 matches against the top 7 this season, the Ivorian scored more than half of his season’s tally, including 10 goals against the big sides. He is the man for Swansea to shine on the big occasions. Plus, it was the timing, as most of his goals have come away from home, which pleases the fans.

Bony Comparison 3First season comparison:

This had to come as even players like Luis Suarez, Cristiano Ronaldo found it difficult to make their mark on the first team in their first season on English soil. He also has a record of scoring in 7 successive matches, in which he scored 9 goals that proved to be the difference come end of May.
