Liverpool and England number 2 Glen Johnson has revealed that Luis Suarez will be fit for the 2014 World Cup, particularly when England and Uruguay face off on the 19th of June.
“I spoke to him in the week,” said Johnson. “He doesn’t think that it is that bad so he thinks he will be OK.
“He is a good lad and I get on well with him and, of course, I don’t want him to be injured.
“But we just have to focus on ourselves and let everybody else worry about the other teams.”
The 27 year old forward has racked up numerous player of the year awards after his outstanding season in the Premier League, and neutrals across the world, as well as the Red half of Merseyside (albeit through their fingers) will hope to see one of the most exciting players on the planet play in the biggest competition in football. Should Suarez be fit, England will know the task they face in keeping the controversial figure from influencing the match.
