Mario Balotelli is set to rejoin the Premier League after his club AC Milan confirmed his departure on their website. Liverpool are strongly linked with the Italian international and former Manchester City player, and he is expected to complete a move worth in the region of £16 million.
Liverpool have been searching all summer for a replacement for Luis Suarez who departed for Barcelona, and while he is well noted for controversies on the pitch, it is on it that Balotelli has earned a name for himself.
Capable of playing up front on his own or as a wide forward, Balotelli is certainly the type of player Brendan Rodgers looks at when trying to build a side. But his desire and questionable antics have been cited as major reasons for Liverpool fans to be nervous of the move.
Whatever occurs, should Mario Balotelli arrive back in England, there will be plenty to talk about.
