What to Expect in Premier League This Weekend

This week we have loads of exciting matches to follow in Champions League, but let’s not forget about the Premier League as well. The championship is at its ninth week, with lots of exciting clashes to look forward to, including Chelsea visiting Manchester United on Sunday and Manchester City keeping the pressure on the leader in its match against West Ham on Saturday.

Expect Premier League

Manchester United vs. Chelsea

Last season’s match between the two at the Old Trafford was quite boring – they played out a match with no goals scored in the full 90 minutes. United fans hope for a much more exciting match this year, and they will probably get more goals this time around. Manchester United’s defence has performed quite poorly this season, while Chelsea’s attack was highly efficient. Even with Chelsea’s Diego Costa and his replacement off the table, the team has enough attacking power to penetrate and score.

According to Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini – who had his first chance to enter the field during the team’s last match after a long, long time spent on the sideline – the team has lost its balance between their attack and defence, and this could cost them dearly at Sunday’s match.

Some predictors expect the match to end with a 2-2 draw, others consider Chelsea capable of beating Manchester United by one goal difference at least.

Tottenham vs. Newcastle

The Spurs will be bent on bouncing back on this Sunday’s match against Newcastle, after being downed 4-1 by the Sky Blues last Saturday. They will face a team that is also trying to redeem itself after a poor start of the season. The Magpies have eased the pressure a little bit during their last match against Leicester City, which they won 1-0, but they are still at the 18th place in the league, so they need – and want – to perform well in their next match against the Spurs.

Still, predictors don’t expect Newcastle to win its next match. According to most predictions, the Spurs will be the more successful team this Sunday, beating the Magpies by at least one goal difference. The most likely result is 2-1.
