Could Man Utd bring Bale back to the Premier League?

With approximately a month and a half left for the transfer window to close, The Mirror have re-fuelled one of the most exciting and anticipated moves of this season – Gareth Bale to Manchester United. Bale, who is valued at £95m, is still a target for the club.

Louis Van Gaal did hint at a surprise signing before the end of the window, and it turns out that Bale remains on Manchester United’s list.

Looking back to Bale’s previous season with Real Madrid, it is evident that he had a rather inconsistent period. There are a few more reasons that suggest that Bale’s departure from the Spanish giants to Old Trafford could benefit the player.

Real’s fans still haven’t warmed up to him as was seen in a footage revealing Real Madrid fans abusing Bale in the Bernabeu car park post the Champions League exit. Also, the relationship between Cristiano Ronaldo and Bale is icy. Ronaldo is clear enough on the fact that he wants to be the main striker and in January, he was visibly annoyed when Bale decided not to pass to him when he was well placed, and a recent Bale goal was met by irritation from Ronaldo.

Real Madrid is unmerciful when it comes to selling players off – no matter how good they are on the field – and an insecure future is not what a player like Bale deserves. Bale has often found himself fighting for position with the young Spanish midfielder Isco, who arrived in the same summer as the Welshman. Unlike Bale, Isco is immensely popular among the Spaniards and would command nowhere near the same fee as Bale, so if one of them had to be sold to generate some money to spend on the next galactico, it would obviously be Bale.

A move to Manchester United would also allow Gareth Bale to be closer to his family.

The surprise signing might also be Mason Holgate, who is a defender for Barnsley. However, reports also suggest that Newcastle might end up signing the player. Van Gaal is looking to replace Robin Van Persie with either Thomas Mueller or Robert Lewandoski.

Rumors mention that LVG would want to replace David De Gea – if he leaves – with possibly Jason Cillesen. Replacing Victor Valdes with Sergio Romero would also be beneficial for the club. Ajax have stated that they have no issues with Jason Cillesen wanting to move to Manchester United.

Who do you think will be the surprise signing at Manchester United?
