Premier League big guns set for exciting September

The Premier League’s ‘Big Six’ will continue jostling for position during September, with each team facing some potentially tricky encounters over the course of the month.

With Chelsea the only side from last season’s top six to make a slow start to the new campaign, the table is expected to have a largely familiar look over the coming weeks.

The month begins with a true heavyweight clash as Arsenal welcome local rivals Tottenham Hotspur to the Emirates Stadium on September 1.

There is little to choose between the two sides in the latest EPL odds from BetEasy and it would be no surprise to see them fight out an entertaining draw.

The international break kicks-in after the North London derby, giving the clubs the chance to regroup after a hectic opening to the new season.

Manchester United versus Leicester City is one of the standout games when the teams return to action on September 14, although Wolverhampton Wanderers versus Chelsea should also be a cracker.

Liverpool will fancy their chances of beating Newcastle United at Anfield, while Manchester City and Arsenal are fancied to win at Norwich City and Watford respectively.

Spurs face a tricky test at Leicester the following Saturday, but Man City should comfortably dispose of Watford on the same afternoon.

There are three fixtures on September 22, with the clash between Chelsea and Liverpool the undisputed highlight.

Man Utd should win at West Ham United earlier the same day, while Arsenal look a banker bet as they go head-to-head with newly-promoted Aston Villa at the Emirates.

The final weekend sees Liverpool travel to Sheffield United in Saturday’s early game and Jurgen Klopp’s side will be strongly fancied to pick up three points at Bramhall Lane.

Spurs versus Southampton and Chelsea versus Brighton & Hove Albion should both result in home wins later the same day, leaving the two Manchester clubs to take centre stage on the last two days of the month.

City are first on the agenda as they make the short trip down the East Lancashire Road to face Everton at Goodison Park.

The Toffees have their eye on breaking into the top six this season and this fixture will be a great pointer towards their chances.

United complete September’s Premier League fixtures as they face Arsenal at Old Trafford on Monday, September 30.

The Gunners took four points off United in the league last season, but the Red Devils look an improved side and can claim a narrow win this time around.
