The Premier League title has already been decided thanks to the ferocious pace that has been set by Liverpool. Meanwhile, Manchester City and Leicester City look good value for the next two spots after being consistent with their results throughout the season to this point. That means only one spot remains, but it seems impossible to pick which team will be the side to claim the fourth Champions League space.
Punters will be looking to get the best value on their bets, such as the ones with all the promos dedicated to William Hill. These promos could be the difference between punters winning more when betting on the team that will finish fourth this season. However, will it be Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham or Arsenal to clinch the spot? There could be a shock contender or two also in the mix.
Chelsea
Frank Lampard’s debut season in charge of Chelsea would have been seen as a huge success if he can finish the campaign in fourth spot. They are the team in pole position at present, and nobody behind them can get a run of result together to bridge the gap. They have been one of the better teams to watch this season, and nobody would say that the young squad didn’t deserve to finish in the top four. There are still questions about their defensive quality, but they should get over the line because of the lack of quality competing against them.
Manchester United/Arsenal
Although the two teams are in completely different positions in the league, it is impossible to predict that either side will finish in the Champions League places. They have been inconsistent throughout the season, and there are bigger issues that the clubs need to address in the boardroom before they are back competing in the Premier League against the best teams.
Tottenham Hotspur
The arrival of Jose Mourinho was meant to increase the chances of Tottenham finishing in a Champions League place, but they haven’t been able to get above Manchester United to this point, let alone Chelsea. They will be missing Harry Kane for the foreseeable future, which will be a huge blow to their chances. If they can bring in a new striker in the January window, then their chances of finishing in the top four will be increased. Spurs will be the side pushing Chelsea the closest at the end of the season.
Wolves
The dark horses in the race for a top-four place are Wolves. They started the season very slowly, and many doubted whether they would be able to achieve as highly as they did last campaign. However, they have an excellent chance of being close to the top-four if they can sustain their form. The biggest concerns for the side from the West Midlands will be when the Europa League kicks off again. However, they will have two opportunities at reaching the Champions League next season, and they could surprise a lot of people.
