With a convincing win: Liverpool moves back atop the EPL

Liverpool dominated from the very first whistle to the last in their match against Manchester United on Tuesday evening as they made sure they went back to the top of the Premier League.

With the victory, as well as the win against Manchester City last weekend in the FA Cup semifinal, the Reds have been able to continue their pursuit of the quadruple and certainly do not look like a side that is prepared to let those chances slip by them any time soon.

Of course, with the Citizens playing Brighton & Hove Albion at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night, those who are interested in the race for the Premier League title may be interested in the live betting opportunities that are available on Betway, especially after the Seagulls managed to defeat Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in their last two matches.

Nonetheless, back at Anfield, Jurgen Klopp’s side did what they need to do to ensure the pressure is firmly on Pep Guardiola’s team, as they recorded a 4-0 victory against a very lacklustre Manchester United; a team that some certainly were not impressed with.

Having lost at Old Trafford 5-0 earlier in the season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Ralf Rangnick would have been hoping that his side would have shown some desire and fight to be able to compete with one of the best teams in the world currently; let alone the fact that they are one of their fiercest rivals in the history of English football.

Nonetheless, that was not the case, as those who would have used Betway to place a wager on the game would have been able to see what was to come after just five minutes. Luis Diaz netted with ease as Mohamed Salah managed to break away from the defence and play a ball across the box for the Colombian.

The Egyptian made it 2-0 just 15 minutes or so later as the Reds took a commanding lead into the halftime interval, with many Man Utd fans angry with what they had witnessed. However, things certainly did not get better for the Red Devils.

Sadio Mane got his goal to make it 3-0 before the 70th minute, whilst Salah got his second of the game five minutes before the end to make it 4-0; a result that made it 9-0 over the two Premier League games played between the two teams this season.

Liverpool now find themselves top of the league with a two-point advantage over Manchester City with just six games left to play. As mentioned, Manchester City will host Brighton on Wednesday where they will be looking to bounce back from Saturday’s defeat to the Reds in the FA Cup and looking to reclaim the top spot.

As long as the two teams continue to match each other – where the Citizens would ultimately win the Premier League – we can at least rest assured that we will get an incredible title race and one that will have every EPL fan on the edge of their seat for the remaining handful of games to be played this season!
