How Crypto Bettors Are Betting on This Year’s Premier League

According to sports sponsorship agency SportQuake, in an article published on Bloomberg, crypto firms have spent a record amount of nearly $170 million on deals for the Premier League 2024/25 season, with more partnerships set to be announced as the season progresses. The report further reinstates the ongoing suspicion that major crypto companies have turned attention to English football, providing an inflow of new revenues for clubs, following the tightening regulations surrounding gambling sponsorships, that have led to the departure of major gambling companies.

In 2019, a whistle-to-whistle ban, meant to stop gambling ads on TV when games are played, was launched, and from mid-2026, clubs will face stringent charges if found using betting sponsors on prime front-of-shirt spots on kits. Top crypto firms like Kraken have seized the chance to strike major partnership deals across Europe’s top-flight leagues, with clubs like Tottenham, Dortmund, and RB Leipzig.  Crypto.com, operated by Foris DAX Asia, based in Singapore, a subsidiary of Foris DAX MT (Malta) Limited, make public in August it has secured a sponsorship deal to be UEFA’s Champions League tournament main sponsor until 2027.

With the rising rate of crypto firms launching into the English Premier league as sponsors, crypto bettors have a golden opportunity right at their fingertips. This is even more golden because crypto betting, unlike traditional sportsbooks, has less chargebacks, a smoother process, and is cost effective, which are core features lacking in traditional sportsbooks.

How Crypto Bettors Are Wagering on Premier League

Many crypto bettors are wagering heavily on the EPL’s top 4 race. Premier League super teams like Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool are in the race for a top 4 finish, with Liverpool still in the lead, ranked by pundits as the league favorite, with a 7-point gap over 2nd place team, Arsenal. Polymarket, a crypto platform, reported that its highest volume market is focused on sports, with $699,410,841 in wagers in the UEFA Champions League. Top teams like Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City are contributing largely to these numbers, with 14%, 18%, and 10%, respectively.

Rollbit, a crypto gambling platform, also made waves after reporting that it records $500 million in daily wagering volume while offering a staggering 1000x leverage on Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other tokens. As the main sponsor for the English Premier League team Southampton, currently in the relegation fight, it has attracted crypto gamblers from several parts of the world, increasing the odds for profits and incentives for crypto bettors who use its platform to stake.

The volume of wagers on the top 4 race, the relegation battle, is increasing, and from a bystander view, it won’t be shocking to hear that some bettors are contemplating wagering on the possibility of Manchester United being in a relegation battle by the end of March. In all of this ongoing buzz, crypto bettors are the winners, and the growing unpredictability around the English Premier league indicates that bettors will make profit when they stake right by leveraging on the tools available on these crypto betting platforms.

The trending bet types amongst crypto sports bettors today are parlay bets, prop bets, spread bets, and over/under bets, going by the large number of goals being scored by English Premier League teams in recent weeks.
