Looking at the year ahead, there are so many different types of sporting events happening. Wimbledon isn’t too far away, the world snooker championships are in April, the Champions League final in May, and the World Cup qualifiers for the big tournament next year.

When watching an event, a lot of people like to place a bet on the sport. This makes it a little bit more enjoyable and exciting as your bet may come in. Depending on the sport you are watching, there are different types of betting that you can do. Here’s a quick guide on what types of sports betting there are.
Live Sport Betting
If you are planning on watching the game live on the TV, you could make it that little bit more exciting by betting, live as the sport is being played. Live betting has grown in popularity, due to viewers being able to get a better insight into the game, before placing their bet. It also means you can place different types of in-play bets, such as shots on target for a particular player or timings of goals.
Build a Bet
Recently some providers have been offering build a bet. Build a bet means you can build your own unique bet, instead of having to bet on the standard ones available. This gives you more flexibility in your selection, as you combine different elements such as how many yellow cards, how many corners, the overall score and who scores etc. As you build your bet, the odds will keep changing, meaning you can find the perfect bet for you at the best odds.
Special Bets
Special bets are fairly self-explanatory. They are bets that are released a day or two before the event as a special offer. These special bets can be anything for the event but what they will mostly do, is give you better odds than what is normally offered. For example, in a boxing event, they may increase the odds as a special case for a boxer knocking out an opponent in a certain round. For Tennis, they may increase the odds of a certain player winning by a certain amount of points. These specials will have terms which will apply to them, such as a maximum bet you can place, as sometimes they are very enticing.
