Liverpool could turn to £75.9m Bundesliga star

Liverpool Eye £76m Felix Nmecha as Alex Scott Transfer Demands Reach £115m

Liverpool are considering Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha as an alternative to Bournemouth’s Alex Scott, with the Reds facing significant financial obstacles in their pursuit of the England international.

According to Caught Offside, Liverpool and Chelsea are the leading admirers of Scott, although Bournemouth’s valuation could complicate negotiations ahead of January.

The Cherries reportedly want more than £100million for the 23-year-old, with some sources suggesting a fee between £110million and £115million.

Liverpool Identify Nmecha as Midfield Alternative

Liverpool are assessing several options, including Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara and Borussia Dortmund’s Felix Nmecha.

The German international is reportedly valued at approximately €90million (£75.9million), making him a potentially more affordable option than Scott.

Nmecha, 26, signed a new Dortmund contract earlier this year, although Liverpool remain interested in his availability.

The midfielder previously spent 12 years in Manchester City’s academy and is reportedly open to returning to English football.

One source told Caught Offside:

“Liverpool know Nmecha well and admire his qualities,”

“While I wouldn’t expect him to be a priority target, he’s someone they’d be ready to turn to if Alex Scott proves too expensive or chooses another option.”

Iraola Faces Important Liverpool Transfer Decision

Andoni Iraola’s Liverpool are looking to strengthen their midfield, with Scott’s Premier League experience making him an attractive target.

Nmecha offers another intriguing possibility, particularly given his physical presence, technical ability and experience in Bundesliga football.

Manchester United and Chelsea have previously monitored the Dortmund midfielder, although neither secured his signature during the summer.

Dortmund maintain that Nmecha is unavailable for transfer, but Caught Offside reports that an offer approaching €90million could potentially encourage negotiations.

Liverpool must now decide whether Scott’s considerable valuation represents worthwhile investment or whether alternatives such as Nmecha and Camara offer better value.

Our View – EPL Index Analysis

From an expectant Liverpool supporter’s perspective, the emergence of Felix Nmecha as an alternative to Alex Scott makes considerable sense.

Scott would be an exciting signing, particularly because Andoni Iraola already understands his qualities from their time together at Bournemouth. That familiarity could prove invaluable when integrating a midfielder into Liverpool’s system.

However, paying up to £115million represents an enormous commitment, especially when other areas of the squad may require investment.

Nmecha offers a fascinating alternative. His physical attributes, technical confidence and ability to progress possession through midfield could make him well suited to the demands of Premier League football.

His Manchester City background also provides some familiarity with English football, while his Bundesliga experience has helped him develop into an established Germany international.

There is still a significant financial consideration. Approximately £76million is hardly inexpensive, and Liverpool must be convinced Nmecha would deliver the required improvement.

Dortmund’s reluctance to sell could complicate matters further.

Lamine Camara also deserves attention, particularly if Liverpool want to preserve funds for additional recruitment.

Supporters should welcome the club exploring several options rather than becoming fixated on one expensive target.

Scott may remain the preferred choice, but Nmecha could offer Liverpool an opportunity to strengthen midfield without meeting Bournemouth’s extraordinary demands.

For Iraola, securing the right profile matters enormously as he continues shaping Liverpool’s next chapter.
