Following his teams 1-0 victory away at title rivals Manchester City, Chelsea star Eden Hazard is convinced his team has what it takes to win the Barclays Premier League this season.
In winning at the Etihad, Chelsea ended Manchester City’s 100% record at home this season. Many felt that Chelsea would just sit back and defend, however they surprised everyone with their counter-attacking style, Hazard said “Lots of people thought that we would just set out to defend,” “But it was the opposite. We analysed City’s style of play very well before the game and we came along to win. “
The discussions we had in advance were all about winning. The manager said, ‘Don’t defend, you are here to attack and score goals’.
Although Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has said his team are not in the title race, Hazard feels differently “We really did things in fine style. The three points will be important in the title race.
“We are aiming to win the league. It won’t be easy, but we won’t give up, we have the qualities needed to do it.”Let’s see what happens between now and the end of the season.”
Whether Jose Mourinho admits it or not, Chelsea are certainly in the hunt for this Barclays Premier League title, with his previous record in this county I doubt many would bet against him guiding Chelsea to the title come May.
