Speaking ahead of his teams top of the table clash at Anfield against Arsenal, Martin Skrtel admits he is expecting a tough game but feels his reds will come out on top.
Arsenal currently sit two points ahead of the chasing pack at the top of the Barclays Premier League and will hope to extend that lead with victory over Skrtel’s Liverpool.
However, the Slovakian centre back is sure the team will bounce back from a disappointing result last time out against West Bromwich Albion “I am disappointed to be honest; we scored early and controlled the game but we only have a single point,” the defender told Liverpool’s official website.
“We made a mistake but this is football and this can obviously happen to any one of us.
“However, I am confident we can beat Arsenal because we definitely have the strength to do so.
“They are the leaders at the moment but we can give them a hard time.
“It won’t be an easy game but I am sure we can do something in front of our fans.”
Liverpool do have an exceptional home record this season and I would expect them to fare better than when they visited the Emirates earlier this season, will Liverpool have enough to get the 3 points? Much will depend on the performance of Skrtel and his defensive colleagues.
