Moyes backs United to finish top 4

Manchester United manager David Moyes is still convinced his team will finish in the top 4 of the Barclays Premier League this season.

Following his teams 0-0 draw away at title challengers Arsenal, David Moyes is confident of his teams ability to catch Liverpool and finish in the top 4 this season.

“If there is one club who have been great at winning games in the second half of the season, and putting pressure on the teams above, it is Manchester United,” the Scot said.

“We will continue to do that and try to make it work. We can only do our job the best we can. We want to make it better and we can’t bother about other teams. All we can do is try to win our next game.”

United’s draw in north London extended their winless run to three games, with Sunday’s draw against bottom club Fulham preceded by a 2-1 loss at Stoke, one of five defeats in 2014.

United’s failure to beat Arsenal extends David Moyes’ record to a massive 49 Premier League away games in which he has failed to beat Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and going back to his Everton days, Manchester United.

There will need to be a real up-turn in form for United to catch Tottenham Hotspur in fifth never mind Liverpool in fourth. I think any run will ultimately be to little to late for Moyes this season.
