Aguero Out for Villa Game

Prolific striker Sergio Aguero has been ruled out of Manchester City’s Wednesday night match Aston Villa due to a groin strain. The Argentina striker has struggled with injuries throughout the season, but has still managed to score 28 goals in all competitions.

Aguero leveled the game against Everton on Saturday following a Ross Barkley wonder goal to open the scoring. However, having celebrated his striker the 25 year old pulled up and was substituted soon after.

Speaking ahead of the match, Manuel Pellegrini said:

“Sergio couldn’t recover 100 per cent from his groin problem, so he is not in the squad list.

“Maybe he can have some chances (for the West Ham match), we will see the way he improves during the week.

“It was not 100 per cent sure if he was completely fit for Wednesday, that is why I didn’t want to have a risk with him, but we will see during the week if he can play on Sunday.”

Man City will win their second Premier League title outright should they win their final two games of the season, both at home to Aston Villa and West Ham.
