Wilfried Bony to score @ 3/1 (4.0). Industry best price is 2/1. Take the bet at http://goo.gl/UCj7gz
Wilfried Bony has scored just under half a goal per game as Swansea continue to defy the odds to sit inside the top ten of the Premier League table.
Bony has scored eight in 18 games for the Swans to lead the way for a club which has more than held its own since getting into the top flight of English football. Having sat out the game against Hull prior to Christmas, Bony will be keen to add to a recent run which had seen him score four times in his last six outings in the Premier League.
If Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers was looking for a sign that things were beginning to turn around for his side it might have come in their fixture against Arsenal.
Rodgers has seen his side have a disappointing season since the summer sale of Luis Suarez while longterm injury to Daniel Sturridge has not helped. Progress to the semi-finals of the Capital One Cup, with a 3-0 win at Bournemouth, and a dramatic 2-2 draw against Arsenal have served to lift spirits at Anfield.
Martin Skrtel scoring the equaliser against Arsenal despite suffering a head injury that later needed stapling showed the sort of spirit Rodgers will need if his current team are to get something out of his old club.
The test of Garry Monk’s managerial career this season is can he take Swansea forward and there will be some among Swans fans for whom beating Rodgers’ team is more than enough to send them into the new year in festive spirit. But all that Monk will want are the points which keep the club moving up the table and his own profile on an ascending curve.
