Players of the week | Man of the Match from Match Day 11 Games

Arsenal 3 – 3 Fulham

The Emirates hosted the pick of the games from the weekend as free-scoring Fulham proved they mean business with an inspired attacking performance and a last gasp penalty stop from Mark Schwarzer.

This game was all about the forwards for both sides, as Olivier Giroud, Theo Walcott, Dimitar Berbatov and Bryan Ruiz each put in worthy performances for the Man of the Match award.

However, the stats show that the England winger was the game’s outstanding performer, as Walcott produced another purposeful performance in the midst of his contract saga.

13 of Walcott’s 14 passes were accurate (93%) and he made more crosses than any other player on the pitch, with a total of 18.

13 of those crosses came from open play but only one actually found a man in the box, giving the winger an embarrassing return of 8% for his crossing accuracy.

However, he provided two assists, created another two clear cut chances, and his pinpoint cross for Giroud’s header was a sign that he can provide the final ball with an able target man to aim at.
