EPL Prediction Model: Wk 36 | Liverpool, City, Arsenal, Everton to win

EPL Prediction Model: Wk 36 | Liverpool, City, Arsenal, Everton to win

The model's been struggling with games further down the league in recent weeks and we'll have to see if this trend continues to the end of the season. While draws between mid-table teams are normally a good source of profit, we've missed quite a few by a single goal and managerial changes - in particular at Crystal Palace - haven't helped prediction accuracy either. I now have eyes firmly on next season and a brand new version of the model …
Prediction Model: Liverpool, Chelsea & City to win, Arsenal draw

Prediction Model: Liverpool, Chelsea & City to win, Arsenal draw

Only four games to go and after a decent weekend, the model struggled in mid-week. Few people would have foreseen Manchester City failing to beat Sunderland and the EPL Model didn't either. I'd warned that the model in its current form can't adjust well to the huge changes in Pulis' Crystal Palace and that proved to be the case against Everton, giving us two wrong calls on Wednesday night. This week, we've got the usual predictions and then just for …
EPL Prediction Model: Liverpool, Chelsea, City to Win, Arsenal to Lose

EPL Prediction Model: Liverpool, Chelsea, City to Win, Arsenal to Lose

The model came very close to a fantastic weekend last week but fell short, and in the end was fairly disappointing. Going firmly against the bookies, we'd predicted Manchester City to lose to Arsenal and Crystal Palace to get a draw against Chelsea. Man City and Chelsea both failed to win, but unfortunately we had the loss and the draw the wrong way around. West Brom were predicted to win against Cardiff and were 2-0 up, then back to 2-2, …
Prediction Model WK 32 | Arsenal and Liverpool to win, Chelsea to draw

Prediction Model WK 32 | Arsenal and Liverpool to win, Chelsea to draw

The five games that were played on Tuesday and Wednesday this week really didn't go well for the model as its upset predictions proved somewhat inaccurate. I'll be hoping that it bounces back this weekend but we do have a few unexpected calls for you once again. It was surprising to see Manchester United picked by the model to beat Manchester City - even playing at home - and in the end this one wasn't close. The model's quite reliant …
EPL Prediction Model: Arsenal, Man Utd, Liverpool and Newcastle to win

EPL Prediction Model: Arsenal, Man Utd, Liverpool and Newcastle to win

I'm just posting a quick update today with predictions for Tuesday and Wednesday nights, then we'll be back to a full fixture list ahead of next Saturday. We were a little unlucky this past weekend, just about breaking even with six wins out of eight on Saturday and then looking for either a draw at Villa or for Southampton to win away at Spurs on Sunday to make it a nicely profitable set of fixtures. With Southampton 2-0 up after …
Prediction Model: Wk 31 | Chelsea, Liverpool, City to win, Arsenal to lose

Prediction Model: Wk 31 | Chelsea, Liverpool, City to win, Arsenal to lose

We start this week with two pieces of good news. Firstly, last weekend saw six results out of ten predicted correctly with a tidy 33% profit at the bookies and secondly - thanks to some nice work by @We_R_PL - we now know that the model is better at calling Premier League results than Lawro. It may not sound like a high bar to set and people do love to mock Lawro's predictions but he's actually pretty good and at …
EPL Prediction Model: Wk 30 | Liverpool, Chelsea to win, Arsenal to lose!

EPL Prediction Model: Wk 30 | Liverpool, Chelsea to win, Arsenal to lose!

We're three quarters of the way through the season and it's time for a look back. I've posted updates each week giving some detail about how the previous round went, but haven't gone right back to the first week of November and the prediction model's first outing. Let's start with the good news. We're winning! If you've bet £10 on every result the model's called since 1st November, you're now £140.56 richer. Here's what that looked like, from November up …
Prediction Model | Chelsea, Arsenal and Man Utd to win (inc. FA Cup)

Prediction Model | Chelsea, Arsenal and Man Utd to win (inc. FA Cup)

Last week was a strange one. Overall we finished fourteen percent up at the bookies by betting the same stake on each game, but only three results were called correctly out of the weekend's eight games. We kicked off with a cracking Saturday, successfully predicting wins for Stoke at home to Arsenal, Liverpool away at Southampton and Chelsea away at Fulham. Then things were looking good on Sunday for a Swansea win and possibly for Cardiff to grab their predicted …
